Iowa Property & Casualty exam and license path

Iowa has no prelicensing requirement, and the Iowa Insurance Division does not endorse study materials or vendors. This online Self Study product is optional independent exam preparation for Iowa's separate Property and Casualty examinations—not state-required or state-approved education, Pearson VUE, either exam, NIPR, Fieldprint, fingerprints, application, appointment, or producer license.

1. Choose optional exam preparation

Product 1229 provides 70 days of online Self Study access for P&C exam preparation. Iowa does not require prelicensing, and TSI makes no required-provider, recommendation, approval, or endorsement claim.

2. Schedule both exams

Take Property 12-IA-03 and Casualty 12-IA-04. Pearson currently lists 2 hours and $44 per exam. Test-center and OnVUE delivery are available; reserve at least 24 hours ahead. Walk-ins are not available.

3. Study each General and Iowa portion

Property totals 81 scoreable and 10 unscored pretest questions. Casualty totals 83 scoreable and 10 unscored pretest questions. IID determines the passing score; Pearson reports pass or fail, and the current sources do not publish one universal numeric passing score.

4. Apply, then complete fingerprints

After results transfer, apply through NIPR within 90 days after passing. NIPR currently lists a $50 Iowa state fee, excluding its transaction fee. Initial resident fingerprinting follows after submitting the NIPR application; the confirmation supplies the IID Fieldprint code and NPN.

Reexamination: Pearson requires a candidate to wait 24 hours before making a reexamination reservation.

Fingerprint cost/timing: IID currently lists $34.35 at an Iowa site or $36.35 outside Iowa and says results typically arrive in 3-5 business days. Confirm current amounts and instructions in the application confirmation before acting.

Current official Iowa sources

Course boundary: The $114.95 purchase provides 70 days of optional independent online Self Study access. It does not include Pearson registration, either examination or fee, the Iowa or NIPR fees, application, fingerprints, criminal-history checks, insurer appointment, or producer license. TSI does not claim Iowa Insurance Division, Pearson VUE, NIPR, or Fieldprint recommendation or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, exam passage, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
