This Privacy Notice explains how Insurance Training Professionals LLC, doing business as TSI National, TSI Training, and related brands (collectively, “TSI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal information. It also describes choices and rights that may be available to you.
This Notice applies to TSI websites, online accounts, checkout, learning platforms, courses, virtual and in-person classes, support services, communications, text-message programs, artificial-intelligence-assisted features, and other services that link to this Notice (collectively, the “Services”). A separate notice presented at the time of collection may apply to a specific feature or program. If a specific notice conflicts with this Notice, the specific notice controls for that processing.
This Notice is a description of TSI’s practices. It is not a warranty that the Services will be error-free or immune from every security incident, and it does not create contractual duties or remedies beyond those imposed by applicable law. TSI’s Terms and Conditions, including their dispute-resolution and limitation-of-liability provisions, apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in this Notice limits rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited or waived.
1. Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with TSI. It may include:
Account and contact information
Names, usernames, email addresses, telephone and mobile numbers, mailing and billing addresses, account identifiers, authentication information, account preferences, and relationships to an employer, agency, manager, sponsor, or other organization.
Identity, licensing, and regulatory information
When required for enrollment, course administration, identity verification, continuing-education reporting, or regulatory submissions, we may collect date of birth, insurance or professional license information, National Producer Number, state identifiers, partial Social Security number, proctor or identity verification records, and related regulatory information. Do not provide a full Social Security number, health information, payment-card number, or other sensitive information unless TSI expressly requests it through a designated method.
Purchase and payment information
Products and courses purchased, order and invoice details, coupons and discounts, billing information, payment status, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, tax records, and limited payment-method information. Payment processors generally collect and process full card, bank, or wallet details; TSI generally receives transaction status, tokens, and limited account details rather than the complete payment credentials.
Course, attendance, and educational activity
Enrollments, assigned courses, attendance, class schedules, logins, lesson and content activity, time spent, quiz and test attempts, scores, Practice Test and Final Exam activity, completion status, certificates, continuing-education credits, instructor interactions, tutoring activity, and records required to provide or document educational services.
Communications and support information
Support tickets, emails, forms, chat messages, attachments, survey responses, reviews, newsletter preferences, telephone or text-message communications, virtual-class interactions, and related timestamps and delivery records. If a feature accepts voice input, we may process the audio, a transcript, and technical information needed to provide that feature.
Device, usage, and online activity
Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, cookies and similar identifiers, referring and exit pages, pages and products viewed, links and buttons selected, session and login events, approximate location derived from IP address, attribution information, and diagnostic, fraud, and security logs.
Artificial-intelligence-assisted feature information
Questions, prompts, transcripts, course context, generated answers, ratings, feedback, and related technical information when you use a tutoring, support, search, or other AI-assisted feature. TSI’s AI-assisted features are educational or operational aids; they do not issue an insurance license or make licensing decisions. Do not submit sensitive information to an AI-assisted feature unless the feature expressly requests it and displays an appropriate notice.
Information supplied by organizations and other parties
Employers, insurance agencies, managers, sponsors, instructors, service providers, regulators, public sources, and business partners may provide enrollment, identity, contact, payment, course-assignment, or reporting information about a learner. If you provide information about another person, you represent that you are authorized to do so and to permit TSI to process it as described in this Notice.
We may collect other information when we explain the collection at the time, obtain consent where required, or otherwise process it as permitted by law.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect personal information:
- directly from you when you browse, create an account, purchase, enroll, attend, complete course activities, contact support, provide a mobile number, submit a form, or use an interactive feature;
- automatically from browsers, devices, cookies, server logs, learning systems, payment and fraud systems, and communications providers;
- from an employer, agency, manager, sponsor, instructor, or other person that purchases, assigns, administers, or monitors training for you;
- from vendors that help process payments, deliver communications, host or secure the Services, provide analytics, operate learning or meeting tools, or prevent fraud; and
- from regulators, licensing authorities, public records, and other lawful sources when relevant to course approval, reporting, identity, compliance, or dispute resolution.
3. How We Use Personal Information
TSI may use personal information to:
- operate, administer, personalize, and improve the Services;
- create and authenticate accounts and connect website purchases to learning accounts;
- process orders, payments, discounts, invoices, refunds, and disputes;
- enroll learners, schedule classes, deliver course access and materials, measure progress, administer assessments, issue certificates, and report completions or credits;
- provide tutoring, support, service notices, class reminders, account notices, and other requested communications;
- administer text-message programs as described below;
- provide managers, employers, agencies, or sponsors with training information they are authorized to receive;
- maintain regulatory, educational, tax, accounting, audit, and proof-of- delivery records;
- analyze website, product, course, campaign, and communications performance;
- advertise and market TSI products and services, subject to applicable choices and consent requirements;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, account sharing, abuse, security incidents, unlawful conduct, chargebacks, and violations of TSI terms;
- enforce agreements, protect TSI, its users, and others, establish or defend legal claims, and respond to lawful requests;
- evaluate and improve course materials, automated tools, customer service, and business operations; and
- create aggregated or deidentified information for lawful analytics, research, reporting, planning, security, and product-development purposes.
We may use information for another purpose that is reasonably necessary or compatible with the context in which it was collected, as permitted by law, or with consent where required.
4. When We Disclose Personal Information
TSI may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described in this Notice:
Service providers
Vendors that provide website hosting, content delivery, cybersecurity, backups, learning-management services, account integration, payment processing, accounting, fraud prevention, scheduling, videoconferencing, email, text messaging, customer relationship management, support-ticket services, analytics, advertising, search, forms, shipping, document handling, and AI-assisted functionality. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices as well as any applicable arrangement with TSI.
Employers, agencies, managers, and sponsors
If an organization buys, assigns, sponsors, or administers training, TSI may provide that organization or its authorized managers with enrollment, attendance, progress, score, completion, certificate, purchase, or other administrative information. The organization may independently control its copy of that information under its own policies.
Instructors, proctors, regulators, and licensing authorities
TSI may disclose identity, enrollment, attendance, assessment, completion, license, and other required information to instructors, proctors, course providers, state departments of insurance, licensing authorities, continuing-education administrators, and related entities.
Professional advisers and legal recipients
TSI may disclose information to auditors, accountants, insurers, attorneys, consultants, courts, law enforcement, regulators, government agencies, or other parties when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misconduct, enforce agreements, collect amounts owed, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business transactions
Personal information may be evaluated, transferred, or disclosed as part of an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, transfer of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
At your direction or with consent
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, authorize a connection, request a referral, post information publicly, or otherwise consent.
TSI does not knowingly sell personal information for money. We may disclose online identifiers and activity to analytics or advertising providers. Some privacy laws may define certain advertising or analytics disclosures as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged. Where an applicable law gives you a right to opt out of such processing, you may submit a request using the methods in Section 11.
TSI does not knowingly sell sensitive personal information or biometric data. TSI does not sell mobile numbers or text-message consent records, and does not disclose them to unaffiliated third parties for those parties’ own marketing. Mobile information may be disclosed to messaging providers, carriers, and other vendors that help TSI deliver and document communications, and when otherwise required or permitted by law.
5. Text Messages and Mobile Information
When an authenticated student provides a valid mobile number at checkout or through an eligible course form, TSI may use that number for informational and service-related text messages. Depending on the student’s purchases, schedules, support interactions, and course activity, messages may include order, account, course-access, scheduling, class-reminder, support, and study- progress information. TSI will not use this authorization for marketing texts that require separate consent unless that separate consent has been obtained.
For the Practice Test progress program, TSI may send up to two informational texts after the student’s first eligible Practice Test. Those messages may include the student’s completed Practice Test count, highest Practice Test score, and a study recommendation. TSI’s recommendation of at least ten completed Practice Tests and a highest score of at least 80 percent is study guidance, not a prediction or guarantee that the student will pass a state exam.
Message frequency for other service-related programs varies. Message and data rates may apply. Providing a mobile number for informational texts is not a condition of purchase where applicable, and an invalid or missing mobile number may make text-based features unavailable without preventing services that do not require a mobile number.
The sending number is not monitored for support, and ordinary replies may not be read or answered. Reply STOP to a TSI National text to opt out. You may also communicate an unambiguous opt-out request through the support or privacy channels in Section 11. A provider-level STOP may block all automated TSI National texts associated with the shared sender, not only the program that generated the most recent message. A carrier or provider START command does not necessarily recreate consent for a specific TSI program. For help, use the TSI support-ticket system or email support@tsinational.com.
TSI may retain consent, delivery, opt-out, and suppression records as needed to operate the program, demonstrate compliance, prevent duplicate messages, and honor future opt-outs. TSI may retain a non-plaintext or keyed suppression marker after other details are deleted. Messaging providers and carriers process destination numbers, routing information, message content, delivery events, and opt-out events under their own terms. For the Practice Test program, TSI requests that its messaging provider discard the outbound message body from the ordinary provider message record; the provider and carriers may still process or retain limited information for delivery, security, suppression, billing, legal, and compliance purposes.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
TSI and its vendors may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the Services operating, maintain sessions and carts, remember choices, measure performance, understand traffic and usage, attribute visits or purchases, prevent fraud, and support advertising.
Browser and device controls may allow you to block or delete cookies. Doing so may cause account, cart, checkout, learning, or other features to work incorrectly. Advertising-industry opt-outs and browser controls may apply only to the browser or device where they are set and may not eliminate contextual advertising.
Ordinary browser “Do Not Track” signals are not governed by one uniform standard, and TSI does not respond to them unless required by applicable law. Where applicable law requires TSI to recognize a legally valid opt-out preference signal, TSI will process it as required by that law.
7. AI-Assisted and Automated Features
TSI may use automated or AI-assisted systems to provide educational tutoring, search, content recommendations, quality review, fraud or abuse detection, support drafting, analytics, and other operational functions. Depending on the feature, information may be processed by TSI systems or by a service provider. Feature-specific disclosures shown before submission are part of this Notice.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate and should not be treated as legal, licensing, regulatory, financial, employment, or professional advice. TSI does not use an educational AI response to issue or deny a government license. We may use aggregated or deidentified interactions to evaluate and improve the Services. If you submit feedback or request human support, relevant interactions may be retained and reviewed for that purpose.
8. Data Retention
TSI retains personal information for the period reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including to provide Services, maintain accounts and educational records, satisfy regulatory and tax obligations, document consent and delivery, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, preserve legal claims, and comply with law. Retention depends on the type of record, the state and course involved, the student’s activity, contract requirements, legal holds, limitation periods, and operational or security needs.
For example:
- order, payment, accounting, refund, chargeback, and tax records may be kept for legal, accounting, audit, and dispute periods;
- enrollment, attendance, course activity, assessment, completion, certificate, and system-log records may be kept for periods required by regulators, course approvals, contracts, audits, and legal defense;
- support and communications records may be kept while a matter is open and afterward for quality, fraud, dispute, and recordkeeping needs;
- detailed text-message program records are subject to TSI’s operational retention schedule, while limited consent, delivery, source-use, erasure, and opt-out markers may be kept longer when necessary to prove compliance or prevent unwanted or duplicate messages;
- backups, archives, and third-party records may persist until they are overwritten or deleted under the applicable system’s normal schedule; and
- aggregated or deidentified information may be retained for any lawful purpose, subject to any legal requirement not to reidentify it.
A deletion request does not require TSI to delete information that applicable law permits or requires us to retain. Deleting an account does not necessarily delete regulatory records, transaction records, evidence, backups, provider records, deidentified information, or suppression and fraud-prevention markers.
9. Security and Security Incidents
TSI uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to be reasonable and appropriate to the nature and volume of the information at issue. Safeguards, vendors, and technologies change over time. No website, network, transmission, storage system, vendor, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure, uninterrupted, or immune from error, misuse, intrusion, or unauthorized access.
You are responsible for using a unique password, protecting your credentials and devices, signing out of shared devices, providing accurate contact information, and promptly notifying TSI of suspected account misuse. Do not send payment-card data, a full Social Security number, medical information, or other sensitive information through ordinary email, support tickets, text messages, or AI-assisted features unless TSI expressly instructs you to use that channel.
If TSI identifies a security incident, we may investigate, contain, remediate, preserve evidence, cooperate with providers or authorities, and provide notices to affected persons or government agencies as required by applicable law. No statement in this Notice promises that an incident will never occur, that every event will qualify as a legally reportable breach, or that TSI will provide a particular remedy not required by law.
10. Children’s Information
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and TSI does not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without legally required authorization. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to TSI, contact us using Section 11. A parent, guardian, employer, agency, or sponsor that enrolls a minor represents that it has authority to do so and is responsible for providing any required notices or authorizations.
11. Privacy Choices and Requests
Depending on your residence, the law that applies, and applicable exemptions, you may have the right to request that TSI:
- confirm whether we process your personal information;
- provide access to or a portable copy of certain information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete certain information;
- opt you out of a sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
- limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information; or
- review an earlier decision on a privacy request.
To submit a request, use either of these methods:
- email privacy@tsinational.com with the subject “Privacy Request”; or
- submit a ticket at https://tsinational.com/submit-ticket/ and identify it as a privacy request.
To appeal a denial, use either method above with the subject or first line “Privacy Appeal” and explain why you believe the decision should be changed.
TSI may need to verify your identity, account, email address, relationship to a sponsoring organization, or authority to act for another person. We will use information submitted for verification to evaluate and respond to the request. We may deny or limit a request where identity or authority cannot be verified, the request is fraudulent, abusive, excessive, or technically infeasible, another person’s rights would be affected, or applicable law permits or requires retention or continued processing. If required, we will explain the decision and appeal method.
TSI will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Some information is necessary to provide a requested Service; deleting it or refusing its collection may prevent TSI from completing a transaction, maintaining course access, reporting credit, issuing a certificate, providing support, or performing another requested function.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in the message. Transactional, course, security, legal, and account messages may still be sent where permitted. Text-message choices are described in Section 5.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or integrate with payment providers, regulators, videoconferencing services, social networks, examination vendors, licensing portals, or other third parties. Their privacy and security practices are governed by their own notices and are not controlled by this Notice. TSI is not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or availability of an unaffiliated third party’s services except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.
13. United States Processing
TSI operates in the United States. If you access the Services from another country, personal information may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States and other locations where TSI’s providers operate, subject to applicable law.
14. Changes to This Notice
TSI may update this Notice to reflect changes in its Services, technology, vendors, practices, or legal requirements. The revised Notice is effective when posted unless a later date is stated. We may provide additional notice or request consent when required by law. The “Last updated” date identifies the current public version.
