COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you enroll

Do I need a sponsoring firm to take the SIE?

No. FINRA permits anyone age 18 or older to take the SIE without association with a firm.

Does passing the SIE make me registered?

No. Passing the SIE alone does not qualify a person for registration or authorize securities business. Applicable qualification exams, firm association, registration, and state requirements still apply.

What does the Series 6 registration path require?

The SIE is a corequisite. A FINRA member or other applicable SRO member firm must sponsor the representative-level Series 6 examination. Passing an exam does not replace registration or other applicable requirements.

How long can I access a TSI securities course?

The current SIE and Series 6 Exam Prep products each include 70 days of online course access.

Which securities courses are available now?

SIE and Series 6 Exam Prep are available for purchase. Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 66 remain future course paths with no announced release date.

Does TSI guarantee that I will pass?

No. TSI provides independent exam preparation and study tools, but does not guarantee an exam result.

Where do I access the course after purchase?

Sign in to TSI National and open My Courses using the same customer account used at checkout.
