Utah Property & Casualty exam prep and resident-license path

Utah has no prelicensing requirements. This 70-day online Self Study product is optional preparation for the Producer's Combined Property and Casualty Exam; it is not required state education, the exam, an application, fingerprinting, an appointment, or a license.

Important Utah distinction: Buy this course for structured exam preparation and practice, not to satisfy a state education-hour or completion-certificate requirement.

1. Prepare for the exam

Use the chapter videos, Property, Casualty, and Utah-regulation material, online book and presentations, notes, flash cards, and unlimited practice tests. Prometric lists exam 1704 as the Producer's Combined Property and Casualty Exam.

2. Schedule through Prometric

Confirm the current exam selection, identification, fees, delivery options, and appointment availability with Prometric. Utah says the required exam comes before the license application.

3. Apply after passing

Apply electronically through SIRCON or NIPR. The current individual full-line producer license fee is $70. Application-vendor transaction fees, if any, are separate.

4. Complete resident fingerprinting

Initial Utah resident applicants must complete Prometric live-scan fingerprinting after applying. The state lists a $32 FBI/BCI fee and a separate $6 Prometric processing fee. Existing resident licensees adding a line do not repeat fingerprinting.

What the $114.95 purchase covers

Purchase provides 70 days of independent online Self Study access with chapter videos, Utah regulation review, an online book and presentations, notes, flash cards, and unlimited practice tests. It does not include Prometric examination or fingerprint-processing fees, the state application, fingerprint fees, insurer appointment, or license. Requirements and fees can change.

Hiring or training a Utah team?

TSI supports recurring agency, carrier, and recruiting cohorts. Tracked larger-group classes have had first-attempt pass rates around 80% where complete outcome reporting is available; results vary by state, license line, and cohort.

Course boundary: TSI does not claim that Utah, Prometric, SIRCON, or NIPR approves, recommends, or endorses this independent exam-preparation product. Study completion, examination passage, application approval, appointment, and license issuance are separate and are not guaranteed.

Utah Property & Casualty licensing FAQ

Does Utah require a prelicensing course before the Property and Casualty producer exam?

No. The Utah Insurance Department says Utah has no prelicensing requirements. This TSI product is optional independent exam preparation.

Which Utah Property and Casualty exam does Prometric list?

Prometric lists exam 1704 as the Producer's Combined Property and Casualty Exam. Confirm the exact exam selection before scheduling.

When should a new Utah resident applicant apply?

Pass the required exam first, then apply electronically through SIRCON or NIPR. The Utah Insurance Department says applications submitted before a required exam are not reviewed.

Are fingerprints required for a new Utah resident producer?

Yes. Initial resident applicants apply after passing the exam, print the application confirmation, and complete live-scan fingerprinting through Prometric. Existing resident licensees adding a line do not repeat fingerprinting.

What are the current Utah application and fingerprint fees?

The current fee schedule lists $70 for an individual full-line producer license. The state process lists a $32 FBI/BCI fingerprint fee and a separate $6 Prometric fingerprint-processing fee. Examination and transaction fees are separate.

What does the $114.95 TSI purchase include?

It provides 70 days of online Self Study access with Property, Casualty, Utah regulation, chapter videos, an online book and presentations, notes, flash cards, and unlimited practice tests.

Does the purchase include Prometric exams, fingerprinting, the application, an appointment, or a license?

No. Examination, fingerprint, vendor, application, appointment, and licensing costs and decisions are separate.

When can a licensed producer begin acting for an insurer?

Utah says an insurer appointment does not need to accompany the application, but the applicant cannot act as a producer until the appointment process is complete.

What does TSI's roughly 80% first-attempt pass-rate figure mean?

It describes tracked larger-group classes where complete outcome reporting is available. Results vary by state, license line, and cohort; it is not a Utah-specific result or a guarantee.

Does this course guarantee exam passage or a Utah license?

No. Study completion, examination passage, application approval, appointment, and license issuance are separate and are not guaranteed.

Official-source facts reviewed July 22, 2026. Confirm current examination, identification, application, fee, fingerprint, and appointment requirements with the Utah Insurance Department and Prometric before acting.
