Louisiana Property & Casualty exam and resident-license path

Louisiana does not require prelicensing education for the Property and Casualty producer examination. This online Self Study product is optional independent preparation, not required or state-endorsed education.

1. Prepare for PSI Series 106

The current PSI bulletin lists the combined Property and Casualty producer exam as PSI Series 106 and says the exam fee is $58. Its current link describes 150 scored questions plus 5 to 10 unscored experimental questions, 160 minutes and a 70% minimum passing score. The experimental questions count against exam time.

2. Use a PSI testing location

Remote testing ended July 8, 2024. Louisiana licensing exams are offered only at PSI testing locations. After a failure, a candidate cannot schedule another appointment on the same day; PSI's earliest example is two days later, subject to space. The score appears on screen and is emailed.

3. Apply through NIPR

Follow the current resident sequence: exam, NIPR application, then fingerprints. Current NIPR rules say the producer application fee is $75, applicants must be at least 18 and provide a Louisiana address, and supporting documents must arrive within 30 days. Property and Casualty includes Personal Lines.

4. Complete fingerprints after applying

Do not fingerprint before applying. First-time resident applicants complete LDI's background-check authorization and wait for LDI's email instructions before scheduling IdentoGO/Idemia. LDI normally receives PSI scores in one to two days and fingerprint results in seven to ten days.

Current official Louisiana sources

Course boundary: Purchase provides 70 days of optional independent online Self Study exam preparation. The purchase does not include the PSI exam, NIPR application, background check, fingerprint-vendor service, company appointment, or license. TSI does not claim LDI, PSI, NIPR, or IIABL approval, recommendation, or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, exam passage, background clearance, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
