Current Alaska resident sequence
- Choose Life and Accident and Health, or Property and Casualty.
- Prepare for and pass each applicable Pearson VUE examination. The current-linked handbook lists a scaled passing score of 70 and one-year result validity.
- Apply through NIPR. Current NIPR information lists a $75 Insurance Producer state fee and a $47 fingerprint fee, excluding its transaction fee.
- Send the original FBI FD 258 fingerprint card and current Privacy and Consent form under Alaska’s instructions.
At a physical test center, the current-linked handbook allows up to two allowable examinations in one $89 session; OnVUE charges $89 for each examination. Confirm the current reservation amount before scheduling.

Does Alaska require mandatory prelicensing hours for these producer lines?
The current resident path requires the appropriate examinations but does not list mandatory prelicensing education hours for these standard producer lines. TSI provides optional independent exam preparation.
Are Life and Health combined into one Alaska exam?
No. Alaska uses separate Life exam 01 and Accident and Health exam 02. Applicants seeking both authorities take both examinations.
Are Property and Casualty combined into one Alaska exam?
No. Alaska uses separate Property exam 04 and Casualty exam 05.
What costs are separate from the TSI course?
Pearson VUE examinations, fingerprint processing, state and NIPR transaction fees, appointment, product-specific training, and licensing are separate from the $114.95 TSI course.
How are fingerprints submitted?
Initial resident applicants follow Alaska's current original FBI FD 258 card and Privacy and Consent form instructions. The original card cannot be uploaded through the NIPR Attachment Warehouse.
Does the Life and Health course include Alaska annuity or variable-product training?
No. Alaska's annuity suitability training and variable authority requirements are separate from this exam-preparation purchase.
