Start here: Compare the two Arizona insurance license course routes, then use the current resident exam, application, and fingerprint sequence below. Requirements can change, so confirm the final steps with the state before applying.
Is prelicensing education required in Arizona?
Arizona law does not require pre-license education. NIPR lists an examination requirement for Life, Accident and Health or Sickness, Property, and Casualty producer authorities. TSI’s Arizona courses on this page are optional self-study exam preparation, not state-required education.
Exam, application, and fingerprint steps
Exam: Pass the applicable Arizona insurance examination administered by PSI. Current DIFI licensing guidance says applicants generally have four attempts within a one-year period and must apply within one year after passing.
Application and background check: Apply through NIPR after meeting the resident application requirements. DIFI currently lists a $120 nonrefundable license fee. Fingerprints apply to specified residents and relocation situations; DIFI lists a $22 FBI processing component when fingerprints are required.
- Choose the producer line you need.
- Prepare for and pass the applicable PSI examination.
- Complete fingerprints when the current DIFI rules require them.
- Apply through NIPR within the current deadline.

Which Arizona insurance license course should I choose?

What is included in each TSI self-study course?
Each listed course includes 70 days of online access, videos, flash cards, study notes, and unlimited practice tests. Course access and exam or application steps are separate.
Can an agency pay for several learners?
Yes. Keep the payer and each learner seat separate, then use the group-enrollment route with the state, course line, expected headcount, and timing. A quote or planned roster is not an enrollment or collected revenue.
