Current Delaware resident sequence

  1. Choose the exact lines needed. Life, Health, Property, and Casualty are separate examinations; a combined TSI prep product does not combine the state exams.
  2. Use optional preparation if useful. Delaware does not require prelicensing education, and TSI does not claim that this independent Self Study product is required or state-approved.
  3. Schedule through Pearson VUE. The current handbook lists a $90 examination fee and says candidates scheduling multiple major-line exams on the same day pay one fee, excluding Personal Lines.
  4. Apply electronically through NIPR after passing. Examination results are sent electronically, remain valid for twelve months, and NIPR currently lists a $125 Insurance Producer state fee, excluding its transaction fee.
  5. Obtain and submit the current Delaware state and FBI federal criminal-history reports dated within ninety days. Follow Delaware DOI and State Police instructions for the current fingerprint and report process. Insurer appointment is separate.
