Nebraska licensing FAQ
Does Nebraska require a state-approved prelicensing course?
Nebraska publishes an exam-first resident process and says candidates may choose their own study materials. The Department does not review, approve, or recommend exam-prep providers. TSI is optional independent exam preparation, not a state completion certificate.
Which combined Nebraska exams match these courses?
PSI lists Life, Accident and Health or Sickness producer exam 13-03 and Property and Casualty producer exam 13-04.
What do the combined exams cost?
The PSI bulletin effective March 16, 2026 lists each combined exam at $47. Confirm the current amount with PSI when scheduling.
How many scored questions are on each combined exam?
The current PSI bulletin lists 150 scored items and a passing cut score of 105 correct, or 70 percent, for each combined exam. PSI may also include a small number of unscored experimental items.
Can I test remotely?
No new remote appointments are allowed under Nebraska guidance effective March 16, 2026. New candidates must use a physical PSI testing site; previously scheduled remote exams were the limited exception.
What happens after I pass?
PSI sends passing results to the Nebraska Department of Insurance. The Department says to allow 2-3 days before applying through NIPR, then generally 3-5 days for application processing.
What is the resident producer application fee?
NIPR currently lists a $50 Nebraska Insurance Producer state fee per application, excluding NIPR transaction fees. Confirm the live total before submitting.
How long is a passing exam result usable?
The PSI bulletin says application materials and fees must be submitted within one year of passing the exam.
Does a course purchase guarantee a pass or license?
No. Study completion, exam passage, application review, appointment, and license issuance are separate and are not guaranteed.
Course boundary: Each listed $114.95 purchase provides 70 days of optional independent online Self Study access for the selected line pair. PSI examinations, state/NIPR application, appointments, and license costs are separate. TSI does not claim Nebraska Department of Insurance, PSI, or NIPR approval, recommendation, or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, exam passage, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
