Current Oklahoma resident sequence
- Choose Life & Health, Property & Casualty, or both based on the authority needed.
- Use optional independent Self Study if helpful. OID does not require or regulate prelicensing education and does not recommend an exam-prep provider.
- Schedule the applicable PSI exam. Current materials identify both test-center and remote-proctored delivery; allow three weeks when seeking a specific date and enter identity details exactly as shown on government-issued identification.
- Take the applicable combined exam. Combined Life, Accident and Health or Sickness and combined Property and Casualty are each currently listed at $38, with a passing score of 70%.
- If an attempt is unsuccessful, a candidate may retake the exam but cannot make a new appointment on the same day as the failed attempt.
- PSI reports results to OID within 48 hours. Wait three business days after passing, then apply electronically through NIPR; paper applications are not accepted.
- Current NIPR requirements list a $60 Insurance Producer application fee and say examination results are valid for two years. Vendor transaction fees may be separate.
- Application approval, any required appointment, and license issuance remain separate from the course, exam, and application steps.
