Louisiana Life & Health exam and resident-license path

The current Louisiana Department of Insurance-linked PSI handbook says there are no prelicensing requirements for Louisiana insurance examinations. This online Self Study product is optional independent preparation, not required or state-endorsed education.

1. Prepare for the correct PSI examination

The current PSI bulletin lists combined Series 103, Life, Health and Accident or Sickness, at $58. It separately lists Series 101 Life and Series 102 Health and Accident or Sickness at $36 each. Confirm the correct line or combination before scheduling.

2. Take the examination through PSI

Use the Louisiana PSI program to schedule at an available testing location. Examination registration, fees, identification, scheduling, and testing are separate from the TSI course purchase.

3. Apply through NIPR

Follow the current sequence: exam, NIPR application, then fingerprints. Current NIPR rules say the producer application fee is $75 for lines other than Surplus Lines, excluding the NIPR transaction fee.

4. Complete fingerprints after applying

Do not fingerprint before applying. Follow LDI instructions for the first-time resident background and IdentoGO process. LDI normally receives PSI scores in one to two days and fingerprint results in seven to ten days.

Current official Louisiana sources

Course boundary: Purchase provides 70 days of optional independent online Self Study exam preparation. It does not include the PSI examination, NIPR application, background check, fingerprint-vendor service, company appointment, or license. Variable Life and Variable Annuity authority is separate from Series 103. TSI does not claim LDI, PSI, or NIPR recommendation or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, exam passage, background clearance, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
