Arkansas Life & Health prelicensing and license path
Arkansas requires approved prelicensing education for both Life and Accident, Health or Sickness. This combined online Self Study product provides the two separately approved TSI courses: 20 hours for Arkansas Life and 20 hours for Arkansas Accident, Health and Sickness.
1. Complete both approved education lines
The Arkansas Insurance Department's current Rule 31 provider packet requires at least 20 hours for Life and at least 20 hours for Accident and Health or Sickness. The public SBS lookup lists TSI course 6000218169 for Life and 6000218168 for Accident, Health and Sickness under provider 500032959.
2. Apply, then complete the background check
Current NIPR instructions require an Arkansas resident application before the exam. Submit the NIPR application, then complete the Arkansas State Police background-check form. When the application and background check clear, PSI sends authorization to test; NIPR currently says this may take 2-5 days.
3. Take the separate Life and Health exams
The candidate handbook currently linked by the Department lists separate Life and Health examination entries, each at 2.5 hours and $50. Its registration form says Life and Health may be taken together. The handbook states a 70% passing score. Confirm current fees, scheduling, identification, and delivery details with PSI.
4. Complete state approval
NIPR says the exam is required before the state approves the request and that exam results are valid for one year. The linked handbook says prelicensing certificates are valid for two years. Passing an exam does not by itself issue a license; wait for Arkansas approval before transacting insurance.
