Alaska Property & Casualty exam and resident-license path

Alaska requires resident Property and Casualty applicants to pass the appropriate exams but does not list mandatory prelicensing education hours. This online Self Study product is optional independent exam preparation for both separately tested lines.

1. Prepare for two separate exams

Pearson VUE lists Property exam 04 and Casualty exam 05. For each line, the current-linked handbook lists 60 general questions in 1 hour 15 minutes plus 50 Alaska questions in 1 hour. Its scaled passing score is 70.

2. Choose the testing route carefully

The current-linked handbook lists $89 at reservation. A physical test center can combine up to two allowable exams in one $89 session; OnVUE charges $89 for each exam. Pearson currently applies 7-, 14-, and 30-day waits after the first three failed OnVUE attempts.

3. Apply through NIPR after passing

Alaska directs resident applicants to take the exams and then apply through NIPR. NIPR verifies exam results before submission. It currently lists a $75 Insurance Producer state fee, a $47 fingerprint fee, and additional NIPR transaction fees.

4. Send the original fingerprint packet

Follow Alaska's current instructions for an FBI FD 258 card, Privacy and Consent form, and $47 payment. The original card must go directly to the Division and cannot be uploaded through NIPR. Complete application requirements within four months.

Current official Alaska sources

Course boundary: Purchase provides 70 days of independent online Self Study access. It is not mandatory Alaska prelicensing education and does not include Pearson VUE exams, fingerprints, state or NIPR fees, appointment, or license. TSI does not claim Alaska, Pearson VUE, or NIPR recommendation or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, exam passage, background clearance, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
