Pennsylvania Property & Casualty exam prep and resident-license path

Pennsylvania removed mandatory prelicensing education for first-time insurance producer applicants. This 70-day online Self Study product is optional preparation for the appropriate Property and Casualty producer examinations; it is not required state education, the exams, an application, fingerprints, an appointment, or a license.

Important Pennsylvania change: Act 142 of 2024 removed the prelicensing education requirement. Buy this course for structured exam preparation and practice, not to satisfy a state education-hour or certificate requirement.

1. Prepare for the appropriate exams

Use the chapter videos, Property, Casualty, and Pennsylvania-regulation material, online book and presentations, notes, flash cards, and unlimited practice tests. Pennsylvania still requires the appropriate producer examinations even though education hours are no longer mandatory.

2. Schedule through the PID PSI program

The Department currently describes both in-person and remotely proctored testing. Confirm current examination selection, identification, fees, delivery options, and availability in the PID PSI system when scheduling.

3. Apply immediately after passing

Pennsylvania says a successful candidate may apply through Sircon or NIPR immediately after passing. The current initial individual resident producer application fee is $55; vendor transaction charges may be separate.

4. Submit fingerprints in the correct order

A new resident applicant should register with IdentoGO only after passing and applying, using Insurance Department service code 1KGBGJ. Fingerprint exemptions include certain nonresident applicants and resident producers adding a line.

What the $114.95 purchase covers

Purchase provides 70 days of independent online Self Study access with chapter videos, Pennsylvania regulation review, an online book and presentations, notes, flash cards, and unlimited practice tests. It does not include examination or vendor fees, the state application, fingerprints, background review, insurer appointment, or license. Requirements and fees can change.

Hiring or training a Pennsylvania team?

TSI supports recurring agency, carrier, and recruiting cohorts. Tracked larger-group classes have had first-attempt pass rates around 80% where complete outcome reporting is available; results vary by state, license line, and cohort.
