South Carolina Property & Casualty exam and resident-license path
South Carolina repealed producer prelicensing education requirements. This online Self Study product is optional independent exam preparation, not state-required education or a South Carolina Department of Insurance-approved course.
Current resident sequence: pass the appropriate South Carolina producer examination through Pearson VUE, apply online through NIPR, then complete fingerprints using the Department's post-application instructions.
1. Confirm the authority
Choose the examination that matches the Property and Casualty authority you need. Pearson VUE currently lists combined series InsSC-PCSM04 for Property, Casualty, Surety and Marine; verify the current exam before registering.
2. Prepare and test with Pearson VUE
Pearson VUE currently lists the combined exam at 140 items, 165 minutes, and $59. Scheduling, delivery, identification, and fees can change, so confirm them at booking.
3. Apply while the report is current
SCDOI says exam reports are valid for 12 months. Apply online through NIPR. Current SCDOI and NIPR guidance lists a $25 nonrefundable state license fee; transaction charges are separate.
4. Follow the fingerprint sequence
After submitting the resident producer application, follow the fingerprint directions sent by SCDOI. Do not obtain fingerprints early; the Department says results may be destroyed when no matching application can be verified.

TSI does not claim SCDOI, Pearson VUE, or NIPR approval, recommendation, or endorsement and does not guarantee study completion, examination passage, application approval, appointment, or license issuance.
