Current Vermont resident sequence
- Choose Life & Health, Property & Casualty, or both based on the authority needed.
- Use optional independent Self Study if helpful. Prometric lets a candidate who did not use a prelicensing provider select Not Applicable, and neither Vermont DFR nor Prometric reviews or approves TSI study materials.
- Choose series 14-29 for combined Life, Accident, Health and HMO or series 14-31 for combined Property and Casualty. Each outline lists 150 scored questions plus 5 unscored items and a 2.5-hour time limit.
- Prometric offers physical test-center and ProProctor remote delivery. Confirm current availability when scheduling.
- An exam registration remains valid for 90 calendar days after processing. Reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the exam to avoid forfeiting the separate examination fee.
- After passing, wait 48 hours, then apply electronically through NIPR within the statutory 24-month deadline.
- NIPR currently lists a $60 resident Insurance Producer state fee, excluding its transaction fee.
