Is prelicensing education required in Virginia?
Virginia’s current SCC application page lists a 16-hour prelicensing course for Title. It does not list that course requirement for the standard producer lines on this page. TSI’s Virginia routes are independent self-study exam preparation; do not treat them as a Virginia-approved school or mandatory course claim.
Exam, application, and fingerprint steps
Exam: Pass the appropriate Virginia producer examination administered by Prometric before applying.
Application and background check: Apply online through Sircon or NIPR. Virginia resident applicants use Fieldprint for fingerprints. The current SCC page lists $34.95 for fingerprinting, says fingerprints generally must be no older than 90 days, and the current application lists $15 per producer qualification.
