Current Connecticut resident sequence
- Choose Life and Accident and Health or Sickness, or Property and Casualty. Each combined route requires 40 hours of approved prelicensing education unless Connecticut grants a waiver.
- Complete the TSI Self Study course and obtain the prelicensing certificate. TSI approved courses are 6000219142 for combined L&H and 6000221769 for combined P&C under provider 500033012.
- Schedule the matching Pearson exam at least 24 hours ahead and bring the certificate or an approved waiver letter. The combined 12-CT-03 and 12-CT-04 exams each currently cost $105 and allow 2.5 hours.
- After passing, allow one to two business days for results to upload and apply through NIPR within one year. NIPR lists a $140 Insurance Producer state fee; its transaction fee is separate.
