Current Michigan resident sequence
- Submit the electronic resident application through NIPR. DIFS currently lists a $10 state application fee plus a $5 NIPR transaction fee, and says the application is valid for 180 days.
- Complete TSI provider 1166 Life course 96580 and Accident and Health course 96581, each 20 hours, and obtain both certificates for the combined route. Each certificate is valid for 12 months.
- Schedule the matching in-person PSI exam. PSI lists Life 16-65 at 2 hours / 100 scored items / 72%, Accident and Health 16-66 at 2 hours / 100 / 76%, and combined Life, Accident and Health 16-80 at 2.5 hours / 150 / 75%.
- Each PSI examination currently costs $41. Remote-proctored Michigan insurance exams are discontinued. A failed exam cannot be rescheduled the same day; scheduling may resume the next day.

Does this product use one approved 40-hour combined course?
No. TSI provider 1166 has separately approved Life course 96580 and Accident and Health course 96581, each 20 hours. Complete both paths and obtain both certificates for the combined route.
Which Michigan examinations match this course?
PSI lists Life 16-65, Accident and Health 16-66, and the combined Life, Accident and Health exam 16-80. The combined exam currently allows 2.5 hours for 150 scored items and has a 75% cut score.
What costs are separate from the TSI course?
