Current Arkansas resident sequence
- Complete the separately approved 20-hour Life and 20-hour Accident, Health and Sickness education lines. The public SBS lookup lists TSI provider 500032959 and courses 6000218169 / 6000218168.
- Submit the resident application through NIPR, then complete the Arkansas State Police background-check form. NIPR currently lists a $15 application fee; its transaction fee and the background-check fee are separate.
- Wait for PSI authorization to test. NIPR says application and background-check clearance may take 2-5 days.
- Pass the separate Life and Health exams. The currently linked handbook lists each at 2.5 hours and $50 with a 70% passing score, and says they may be scheduled together. Confirm current PSI fees and delivery rules before scheduling.

When does an Arkansas resident apply?
Current NIPR instructions require the resident application before the exam. Complete the Arkansas State Police background check after applying; PSI sends authorization to test after the application and background check clear.
Are Life and Health one combined Arkansas exam?
No. The handbook currently linked by the Arkansas Insurance Department lists separate Life and Health examination entries. Its registration form says they may be taken together, subject to current PSI scheduling rules.
What costs are separate from the TSI course?
The NIPR application and transaction fee, Arkansas State Police background check, PSI examinations, appointment, and licensing are separate from the $114.95 TSI course.
How long are the education and exam results valid?
The Department-linked handbook says prelicensing completion certificates are valid for two years. Current NIPR instructions say exam results are valid for one year.
